Pilates

Pilates may be the fitness world’s most popular exercise. A bit less frantic than intense interval workouts, Pilates offers a mind-body alternative and a way to cross-train that strengthens the whole body.

Many clients finishing up rehab, including athletes, find it confusing to choose between Pilates and yoga. Both are mind-body disciplines with specific breathing techniques, and both use resistance to tone muscles. We incorporate Pilates in a rehab setting. It’s a slow, personal routine done in the clinic, and it can also be practiced in community classes, one-on-one, or at home.

Both disciplines help restore breath and posture, and both can benefit beginners, high-level athletes, or anyone changing their lifestyle after a health concern such as high blood pressure or diabetes. We can help you choose the path that best fits your lifestyle and goals.

CoreAlign®

Easy-to-learn exercises on the CoreAlign® emphasize an upright posture and are designed to improve posture, balance, and functional movement. Developed by physical therapist Jonathan Hoffman, CoreAlign exercises support musculoskeletal rehabilitation by training the core stability muscles to fire with the right timing during challenging exercises, deep stretches, and core-controlled aerobic training. It’s also great for performance and as a regular exercise routine.
